The Eye Exam: Portal To Overall Health
Are you tempted to postpone your regular eye exams? Don’t.
Eye Exams Provide A Unique, Non-Invasive Opportunity
It’s fascinating. The eye is the only place in your body where a bare nerve, a bare artery, and a bare vein are visible without any invasive procedures. When a problem is seen in your eye, the probability is high that the issue is affecting your entire body. Some of the systemic diseases that can be diagnosed through eye exams include high blood pressure, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease.

Routine Eye Exams Are So Important
The American Optometric Association recommends that we get our eyes checked every two years—even if we have perfect eyesight! If you’re over 60, eye exams are even more important and are recommended yearly. Eye diseases such as glaucoma, cataracts, and age-related macular degeneration, if left undiagnosed and untreated, can lead to severe vision loss.
Remember The Other People In Your Life You Care About
Perhaps your vision is perfect and you rarely think about your eye health. Do you care for an elderly parent of other loved one who could benefit from an eye exam? When it comes to health issues, sharing the things we learn with the people we love becomes our responsibility. You can help others by sharing this information.
